It’s a Kodak film display from back in the day when film was necessary to take photographs.

I took this photo as part of making a ‘time capsule’ a few days before The Millennium took place on January 1, 2000.

My goal was to document all of the things that were common in the world at that time and to preserve and document those things for history’s sake.

…a sign of the times!

By the way, this film display was in a grocery store.

This photo reminds me of how lucky I was to have worked in a real photo lab back when film photo labs still existed! I learned a lot about photography there and I had a blast developing photos and helping people make everything from reprints to photo greeting cards for the holidays to posters, scrapbooks, and photo collages.

On May 4, 2003 we made the switch from film to digital photography.

This was our very first digital camera:

Kodak EasyShare camera.

It’s a Kodak EasyShare DX4330 digital camera with 3.1 megapixels and 3X optical zoom.

From this point on, we stopped using our film camera (a Canon Rebel) and started using our new digital camera at all times!

Besides all the hassles of dealing with film, and changing rolls, we were never happy with the grainy quality of the photos from our film camera.

We feel fortunate to be from a generation that utilized both forms of photography — film and digital.
